James Merino


James is a native Tucsonan and has been in the educational field for the last 16 years. He is a two time graduate of the University of AZ majoring in Secondary Education. He currently holds a Master of Arts degree in Organizational Management. He holds an administrative certificate in Educational Leadership. His classroom experience stems from 13 years in teaching American Government, History and Employability skills. James specializes in working with specifically with Ha:san teachers on improving instructional practices. He works closely with his team to organize the most up-to-date researched based professional development for teachers. He works with teachers to build lessons around state standards, strategic planning and addressing learning gaps in classrooms. Another function of his job revolves around observing standardized test data and assisting teachers using this data to drive their instruction. On many occasions he models and co teach lessons along with teachers to provide the necessary supports that they need. Finally, his job requires him to stay up-to-date on the latest instructional practices.
